There are some stories in the Bible we hear again and again; there are others we rarely hear at all. The first tend to be about men, and the latter about women. In this series, we’ll hear about some of the women whose stories often get short shrifted, all of them from the Old Testament. Their accounts illustrate how God uses people on the margins, those outside established structures of authority and power, for divine purposes, and in the process, often upsets usual expectations. Hearing these narratives can help us reflect on others who live on the margins, whose stories often go unheard.
