Order of Service
As I practice generosity I make space for God to move in my heart. He can do what I cannot and what not even a habit can do. . . you're not just practicing a habit; you're opening up space deep inside you in your inner woman or man space that is often closed to God closed to change because of fear because of [greed]. You're opening up those deep, tender parts of who you are to the Holy Spirit and saying Holy Spirit I welcome you . . . come in Holy Spirit and heal. . . Generosity is a practice by which we index our heart from a scarcity mentality to the abundance mentality of Jesus. - John Mark Comer

Prelude

Welcome and Announcements

Responsive Call to Worship

Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the clouds.
How precious is your steadfast love, O God!
All people may take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
They feast on the abundance of your house,
and you give them drink from the river of your delights.
For with you is the fountain of life;
in your light we see light. Come let us worship God!

*Opening Songs

“Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God” (#447)
Seek ye first the kingdom of God
and its righteousness,
And all these things shall be added unto you;
Al-le-lu, al-le-lu-ia

Ask, and it  shall be given unto you,
seek and ye shall find,
Knock, and the door shall be opened unto you
Al-le-lu, al-le-lu-ia

This Is My Father's World (#384)
 This is my Father's world,
and to my listening ears
all nature sings, and round me rings
the music of the spheres.
This is my Father's world:
I rest me in the thought
of rocks and trees, of skies and seas–
his hand the wonders wrought.

This is our Father's world:
O let us not forget
that though the wrong is great and strong,
God is the ruler yet.
He trusts us with his world,
to keep it clean and fair--
all earth and trees, all skies and seas,
all creatures everywhere.

This is my Father's world:
he shines in all that's fair;
in the rustling grass I hear him pass,
he speaks to me everywhere.
This is my Father's world:
why should my heart be sad?
The Lord is King, let heaven ring!
God reigns; let earth be glad!

Responsive Prayer of Confession
Loving Father, we often come to you to get something from you.
Sometimes we neglect the greatest gift you give – yourself.
Forgive us for ignoring you.
Help us to enjoy your presence, your generosity, and most significantly, your abundant love for us.

Too often we are consumed about worry and turned inward thinking of ourselves first.
You invite us to be still and trust in your goodness, but we deny you time and space.
Forgive us for our busyness that rushes past you. Holy Spirit slow us down to rest in your presence.
Fill us with your truth, hope, and love. Amen

(Silence is kept for private prayer)

Assurance of Pardon

Forever (Chris Tomlin)
Give thanks to the Lord
Our God and King
His love endures forever
For He is good He is above all things
His love endures forever
Sing praise sing praise

With a mighty hand
And an outstretched arm
His love endures forever
For the life that's been reborn
His love endures forever
Sing praise sing praise

Sing praise sing praise

Forever God is faithful
Forever God is strong
Forever God is with us
Forever forever

From the rising to the setting sun
His love endures forever
And by the grace of God
We will carry on
His love endures forever
Sing praise sing praise

Sing praise sing praise

Forever God is faithful
Forever God is strong
Forever God is with us
Forever forever

Prayers of the People & The Lord’s Prayer

*Closing Song
Jesus Messiah (Chris Tomlin)
He became sin, who knew no sin
That we might become His righteousness
He humbled himself and carried the cross

Love so amazing, love so amazing

Jesus Messiah, name above all names
Blessed redeemer, Emmanuel
The rescue for sinners, the ransom from Heaven
Jesus Messiah, Lord of all

His body the bread, his blood the wine
Broken and poured out all for love
The whole earth trembled, and the veil was torn

Love so amazing, love so amazing, yeah

Jesus Messiah, name above all names
Blessed redeemer, Emmanuel
The rescue for sinners, the ransom from Heaven
Jesus Messiah, Lord of all

All our hope is in You
All our hope is in You
All the glory to You, God
The Light of the world

Jesus Messiah, name above all names
Blessed redeemer, Emmanuel
The rescue for sinners, the ransom from Heaven
Jesus Messiah, Lord of all
