A Holy Week Note from the Pastor:
Friends,
We are on our way to the Cross and ultimately the JOY of the resurrection. Consider inviting a friend or family member — maybe even someone who feels like a risky invite because of the reaction you anticipate. Ask God if there is someone, and if a name comes to mind, trust the Holy Spirit and extend the invitation. Sometimes an invitation can create some curiosity, and the Holy Spirit can do amazing things through that curiosity.
Easter will be a joyous occasion filled with special music, singing, and the good news proclaimed. If you arrive early, I invite you to sit up front. If you are able, please consider parking in the school parking lot next door and using the path up to the church.
I hope to see you at Maundy Thursday and Good Friday as we walk with Jesus together this week.
Grace and Peace,
Patrick
Maundy Thursday
April 2, 2026
John 13:34
Jesus said: I give you a new commandment, that you love one another.
Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.
Call to Worship
On this day Christ the Lamb of God gave himself
into the hands of those who would slay him.
On this day Christ gathered with his disciples in the upper room.
On this day Christ took a towel and washed the disciples’ feet,
giving us an example that we should do to others as he has done to us.
On this day Christ our God gave us this holy feast.
That we who eat this bread and drink this cup
may remember his sacrificial love
and be partakers of his resurrection.
Come let us worship the living God.
*Opening Song:
How High And How Wide
No eye has seen and no ear has heard
And no mind has ever conceived
The glorious things that You have prepared
For ev'ryone who has believed
You brought us near and You called us Your own
And made us joint heirs with Your Son
Chorus:
How high and how wide how deep and how long
How sweet and how strong is Your love
How lavish Your grace how faithful Your ways
How great is Your love O Lord
Objects of mercy who should have known wrath
We're filled with unspeakable joy
Riches of wisdom unsearchable wealth
And the wonder of knowing Your voice
You are our treasure and our great reward
Our hope and our glorious King
Chorus
Opening Prayer
Behold the Lamb
Behold the Lamb who bears our sins away
Slain for us and we remember
The promise made that all who come in faith
Find forgiveness at the cross
So we share in this Bread of Life
And we drink of His sacrifice
As a sign of our bonds of peace
Around the table of the King
The body of our Saviour Jesus Christ
Torn for you eat and remember
The wounds that heal the death that brings us life
Paid the price to make us one
So we share in this Bread of Life
And we drink of His sacrifice
As a sign of our bonds of love
Around the table of the King
The blood that cleanses every stain of sin
Shed for you drink and remember
He drained death's cup that all may enter in
To receive the life of God
So we share in this Bread of Life
And we drink of His sacrifice
As a sign of our bonds of grace
Around the table of the King
And so with thankfulness and faith we rise
To respond and to remember
Our call to follow in the steps of Christ
As His body here on earth
As we share in His suffering
We proclaim Christ will come again
And we'll join in the feast of heaven
Around the table of the King
Scripture— Matthew 26:17-30
Homily
Eat This Bread (Taizé)
Eat this bread, drink this cup, come to me and never be hungry.
Eat this bread, drink this cup, trust in me and you will not thirst.
Celebration of Communion
The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them up to the Lord.
Let us give thanks and praise to the Lord.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.
*Closing Song:
I Love You Lord
I love You Lord
And I lift my voice
To worship You
O my soul rejoice
Take joy my King
In what You hear
May it be a sweet sweet sound
In Your ear
